SchoolBook has made it even easier to join the conversation about New York City schools. All you need is a cellphone.

By texting SCHOOLS to 30644, parents, students, teachers and anyone interested in education will be invited to join the Public Insight Network, a diverse group of people from across the region that helps WNYC and The New York Times report for SchoolBook.

Participants in the network agree to share their knowledge of, and experiences in, the city schools. They become sources for our enterprising journalists and help our reporting become richer, more diverse and more relevant.

Don’t worry — any information shared with SchoolBook is confidential. It won’t be shared outside of WNYC, The New York Times and our partnering newsrooms. And participants are not quoted without their permission.

Use your phone to help us cover city schools: text SCHOOLS to 30644. Click here to learn more about the Public Insight Network.

Walyce Almeida is the manager of WNYC's Public Insight Network.
