With prom season under way, WNYC sought out seniors with a prom story to tell. We first met Tiffanie Galan, the president of the student council at Life Academy High School for Film and Music in Gravesend, Brooklyn, in early spring. She and her boyfriend were a witty and fun pair, excited about the prom. But the semester unfolded in an unexpected way, and their relationship ended. Still, Tiffanie said, she wasn’t going to let the breakup stop her from enjoying her senior prom.

Watch the video to see how she approached the big day. And leave your comments and memories about your own prom below.

Tiffanie I am so proud of you and you did so well with your interview thank you for sharing yourself with us all. Tiffanie it's not only what you do that makes you a hero it's how you grow from it that helps others become hero's. My little Hero, Tiffanie.

Much Love Ms. Pam
