Wrapping up a week of education coverage, WNYC’s The Takeaway talked to three teachers about their challenges and concerns. Each educator shared a story about a student who comes to school so unprepared that they spend much of their time helping that student feel like he belongs in the classroom. Hear the stories from New York City’s own Juhyung Harold Lee, a fifth-grade teacher at P.S. 124 Yung Wing in Manhattan, Phillipe Cunningham, a special education teacher in Chicago and Caroline Thompson, a pre-school teacher in the Grant-Deuel School District in Revillo, South Dakota.

Make sure to check out this profile of Juhyung Harold Lee, and this opinion piece he wrote for SchoolBook.
