Elmo, resident of Sesame Street, talks to kids about Hurricane Sandy, along with Dr. Rosemarie Truglio, Sesame Street Education and Research Department.

Speaking on The Brian Lehrer Show, they said to explain clearly to children what is happening but to reassure them that their routines will not be disrupted too dramatically, or for too much longer.

Elmo recalled how a big storm in Sesame Street damaged Big Bird’s nest but also how the neighbors came together to repair the nest.
