No Need to Fear the Common Core Standards

One principal worried that implementing the new common core standards would place another burden on students and teachers, who already have to contend with Regents and A.P. exams and other standardized tests. But instead, the principal at Harry S. Truman High School in the Bronx has found that the new standards encourage ”teaching for understanding,” which helps prepare students for all future learning.
