Distinguish between "partisan" politics that's divisive and based on a win-lose paradigm of competing factions, and "self-governing" politics that is necessary for all citizens to be aware of and involved in to keep (or gain) the rights conferred to all Americans by the U.S. Constitution. I call it "ACE'ing" the test of democratic (non-partisan) citizenship by learning Agency, Civility, and Equality, in theory and in practice.
