I think that public education is PUBLIC education. If there are religious or cultural beliefs that a family has, it is not up to the government to fund them. Whatever happened to separation of church and state?
This opens up the possibility for limitless requests on the part of parents for private school funding not based on what is appropriate educationally. If parents want private education, it is not up to the taxpayer to fund that. Tell me where it stops. The answer? It doesn't. How can NY justify the expense? Private schools in general are very expensive, let alone special education classes in private schools.
