Proposed High School Angers Parents at Gifted and Talented School
In another co-location conflict, parents at The Talented and Gifted School for Young Scholars in East Harlem, a kindergarten to 8th grade school, are upset about plans by the city to expand one of the schools with which they share their building into a high school. City Reports More Suspensions, but Serious Crimes Declined
New figures on crime and suspensions in the city's schools show suspensions are up while serious episodes have declined. They also show that most suspensions, 87 percent, were given to black and Hispanic students. A third of all suspensions were given to special education students. Read More »
